1. Introduction and acceptance

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of nbvskilling.org and its pages, forms, downloads and online services (together, the “Site”). The Site is operated by NBV Skilling Foundation, a Section 8 not-for-profit company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN: U88900TS2026NPL213828), publicly presented as Next Bharat Skilling Foundation (“NBSF”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By using the Site, submitting an enquiry, applying to a programme or using an online service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Programme-specific admission forms, codes of conduct, safeguarding requirements, Community Contribution/refund rules, partner requirements or written agreements may also apply. If a programme-specific term conflicts with these general Site Terms in relation to that programme, the programme-specific term will prevail to that extent.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site or submit information through it.

2. Who we are: philosophy, vision, mission and purpose

Our philosophy
Learner first. Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We believe meaningful skilling combines learning, confidence, exposure, shared responsibility and pathways to dignified livelihoods. We work with people, not for people, and build through partnerships across communities, academia, industry and institutions.

Vision

A future where every young person, especially from rural and semi-urban communities, has equitable access to quality learning, future-ready skills, confidence and opportunities to build a dignified and sustainable livelihood.

Mission

To design, deliver and scale inclusive school-to-work pathways that equip rural and semi-urban learners with foundational, employability, technical and entrepreneurial capabilities aligned with evolving industry and community needs, enabling meaningful employment, self-employment and sustainable livelihoods.

Our connected pathway

NBSF connects School -> College -> Industry -> Livelihoods through three complementary programmes: Skill in Village (SiV), SkillPlus and Technical Programs.

Core objectives

  • Strengthen school-based learning and build foundational, communication, digital, life and future-ready capabilities among school-age learners through community- and school-linked approaches.
  • Improve college-to-career readiness through employability, communication, digital, aptitude, workplace and career-preparation programmes.
  • Build industry- and MSME-aligned technical pathways through practical training, emerging technologies, assessments, safety, industry exposure, apprenticeships/internships and placement support.
  • Enable meaningful employment, self-employment, entrepreneurship, dignified livelihoods and economic mobility for rural and semi-urban youth.
  • Build strong academia-industry-community-government partnerships, including CSR and philanthropy, to create sustainable education-to-livelihood pathways.
  • Use research, evidence, innovation, impact assessment and continuous learning to strengthen programme quality and build nationally replicable models.

Long-term ambition / BHAG

By 2035, NBSF aims to empower 100,000+ learners through scalable, industry-linked education and skilling pathways across the school-to-college-to-industry continuum. This ambition builds on the institutional direction of reaching 50,000+ school students and 50,000+ youth by 2035. It is an organisational aspiration and scale target, not a contractual promise or guarantee to any individual participant.

Our institutional descriptor for public communication is: An Initiative of IIT Hyderabad | Rural Development Center (RDC). References to IIT Hyderabad/RDC, Next Bharat Ventures, Deshpande Skilling or other partners describe the relevant institutional or collaborative relationship. They do not make a partner a party to these Terms, an employer of NBSF participants/staff, or responsible for NBSF programmes unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement.

  • We may restrict or suspend access where necessary to protect the Site, learners, staff, partners or lawful operations.

6. Enquiries, applications, enrolment and programme outcomes

  • Accuracy – you are responsible for providing accurate and complete information and updating material changes.
  • No automatic admission – submitting an enquiry/application or paying an authorised Community Contribution does not guarantee admission, seat availability, certification, internship, apprenticeship, placement or employment.
  • Selection – selection may depend on eligibility, verification, capacity, attendance/readiness, partner requirements and programme availability.
  • No job/salary guarantee – NBSF provides training and best-efforts career/placement support where applicable, but no specific job, salary, employer selection, promotion, examination result or employment duration is guaranteed.
  • Communication – we may contact you by official email, phone, SMS or messaging channels for programme administration, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable consent requirements.
  • Programme rules – participants must follow attendance, safety, conduct, safeguarding, assessment and campus/institutional requirements communicated for the relevant programme.

7. Community Contribution: philosophy and funding model

Community Contribution – programme contribution within a subsidised, not-for-profit model
NBSF is a Section 8 not-for-profit organisation. A Community Contribution may apply across NBSF programmes, with the amount and structure varying by programme, cohort and approved subsidy model. It is a clearly disclosed programme contribution paid by the learner/parent toward a portion of total programme expenses. Its purpose is to encourage shared ownership, seriousness, attendance and accountability among learners and families and thereby support stronger programme outcomes. It is not designed to generate profit and does not represent the full cost of programme delivery.

The gap between the Community Contribution and the actual cost of programme delivery may be supported through CSR contributions, grants, donations, sponsorships, institutional or philanthropic support, government or partner support, and other lawful sources. Such funds will be applied in furtherance of NBSF’s not-for-profit objects and in accordance with applicable donor/funder conditions, law and governance approvals.

The Community Contribution may differ by programme, cohort, learner category or approved subsidy structure. The applicable amount, payment schedule, refund basis and any separately priced non-returnable item will be disclosed before payment/enrolment and acknowledged through an official receipt or transaction record.

A Community Contribution is treated by NBSF as a programme contribution and is distinct from a voluntary charitable donation. Payment does not buy a job, placement, certificate, preferential treatment, governance influence or exemption from programme requirements.

NBSF may waive, reduce, subsidise, defer or structure a Community Contribution for a programme or learner category where approved. Such decisions do not create an automatic entitlement for other participants.

8. Authorised payments and caution against fraud

  • Payments to NBSF should be made only through authorised channels communicated by NBSF and should receive an official receipt/acknowledgement.
  • No employee, trainer, volunteer, consultant, agent or partner may collect an additional undisclosed admission, placement, job, commission or facilitation payment in NBSF’s name.
  • A payment requested for a job or guaranteed placement should be treated as suspicious and reported to NBSF through the official grievance/contact channel.
  • NBSF is not responsible for payments made to unauthorised persons, impersonation accounts or fraudulent websites where NBSF did not authorise the transaction, subject to applicable law.

9. Withdrawal, transfer and refund of Community Contribution

Where the NBV Skilling Foundation Student Refund & Withdrawal Policy applies, the following summary principles apply. The detailed approved policy and programme-specific admission terms prevail over this summary:

Situation

General treatment

Admission Cancellation

Paid/enrolled but did not join, or joined and formally withdraws within the first 7 calendar days: refund the Community Contribution actually paid less a ₹250 processing charge, subject to any clearly disclosed and actually issued non-returnable item.

Dropout after Day 7

Refund, if any, is based on programme utilisation: day-wise up to the first month and month-wise thereafter, using the approved programme/batch calculation basis.

No-refund outcome

Where applicable deductions equal or exceed the Community Contribution paid, no refund is payable under the refund policy; no additional training-fee recovery should arise unless separately agreed in writing.

Early placement

Within the first 7 days: Admission Cancellation treatment. Day 8-30: Early Placed + Dropout treatment. Day 31 onward: may be classified as Graduated / Early Placed subject to programme completion criteria.

Transfer / deferment

A learner may request a batch/program transfer or deferment before refund processing. Approval is discretionary and depends on capacity, programme fit and operational feasibility; it is not an entitlement and is not transferable to another student.

Programme-initiated discontinuation

Where continuation is inappropriate due to serious attendance, performance, safety, conduct or non-compliance concerns, NBSF will ordinarily provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond, except where immediate action is needed for safety/serious misconduct. Programme-initiated exit does not automatically forfeit an otherwise eligible refund.

Exceptional refund decisions may be considered under the approved policy for circumstances such as serious medical situations, bereavement/family emergency, relocation, employment, higher education or other reasons accepted by the competent authority. Decisions may be full, partial or nil depending on the circumstances, services delivered, materials issued and costs committed.

10. Voluntary donations, CSR, grants and sponsorships

Voluntary donations, CSR support, grants and sponsorships are distinct from student Community Contributions. They support NBSF’s charitable objects and do not entitle a donor/funder to admission preference, job placement, personal benefit or governance control, except for rights expressly agreed in a lawful funding/partnership agreement.

  • Use of funds – NBSF will apply funds toward its charitable objects and any lawful, accepted purpose restrictions.
  • Receipts – receipts/acknowledgements will be issued as appropriate to the nature of the payment.
  • Tax benefit – no tax deduction or 80G benefit is promised unless NBSF holds the required registration/approval in force for the relevant transaction and applicable conditions are satisfied.
  • Foreign contributions – funds from outside India will be accepted only if and when NBSF is legally authorised to receive them under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 and applicable rules, through the required account/process.
  • Due diligence – NBSF may decline, return or seek information about funding where source, purpose, sanctions/compliance or reputational considerations require review.

11. Safeguarding, dignity and conduct

NBSF is committed to learner dignity, inclusion and safe participation. Participants, staff, trainers, volunteers, vendors and partners are expected to comply with applicable safeguarding, workplace conduct, anti-harassment, safety and institutional rules. NBSF may take proportionate action, including counselling, warning, temporary suspension or programme discontinuation, where necessary to protect people, learning environments or institutional integrity.

Nothing in the Site or programme communication should be interpreted as permitting exploitation, discrimination, harassment, unsafe conduct or unauthorised use of learner images/data.

12. Intellectual property and brand use

Unless otherwise stated, Site content – including NBSF text, programme materials, graphics, logo, visual identity, photographs, videos, reports, layout and other original content – is owned by NBV Skilling Foundation or used under licence/permission. The marks and logos of IIT Hyderabad, Next Bharat Ventures, Deshpande Skilling and other partners belong to their respective owners.

You may view and print Site content for personal, non-commercial informational use. Reproduction, adaptation, commercial use, media use, training redistribution or use of any NBSF/partner mark requires written permission unless law permits otherwise.

13. Material you submit

When you submit information, documents, feedback, photographs, testimonials, ideas or other material, you confirm that you have the right to submit it. NBSF may use submitted material as reasonably necessary to process the relevant application, programme, enquiry, grievance or partnership. Public use of an identifiable person’s photograph, video or personal story will follow our Privacy Policy and separate consent/safeguarding process.

14. Third-party links, tools and partner services

The Site may link to or integrate third-party websites, payment providers, forms, maps, videos, employers, government sites or partner resources. NBSF does not control a third-party service and is not responsible for its availability, security, content or terms. Users should review the third party’s own terms and privacy policy.

15. Accuracy of information and changes to programmes

We take reasonable care to keep Site information accurate and current. However, programme dates, eligibility, locations, curricula, faculty/trainers, contribution amounts, partners, capacity, impact figures and opportunities may change. Impact numbers and targets should be read with the date and scope stated. Long-term targets, including the 2035 scale ambition, are aspirations and not guarantees.

Nothing on the Site constitutes a guaranteed offer of admission, certification, funding, internship, apprenticeship, employment, salary or other outcome. Formal commitments arise only from authorised written documents issued for the relevant purpose.

16. Privacy and data protection

Personal data is handled in accordance with the NBSF Privacy Policy and applicable Indian law. Please review the Privacy Policy before submitting personal data. For minors, parent/guardian consent and safeguarding requirements may apply.

17. Availability and security of the Site

We aim to keep the Site secure and available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may maintain, update, suspend or change the Site where reasonably necessary. Users must not attempt to bypass security controls or gain unauthorised access.

18. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, NBSF is not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising solely from use of the Site, reliance on general website information, or use of an independent third-party service linked from the Site. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or other non-excludable statutory rights.

Programme-specific responsibilities, insurance, safety, refund or liability arrangements may be governed by separate programme documents or partner agreements and are not replaced by this general Site clause.
